South Korean new Environment Minister visited IEEPA

On 29th August 2016 , the South Korean new Environment Minister Zheng Fuyong visited IEEPA to discuss arrangements for South Korean government delegation which will come to China to attend China and South Korea domestic Greenhouse Gas  Emissions Reduction International Conference from 8th to 10th this September. Li Junyang, vice president and secretary general met Zheng Fuyong and they exchanged proposals.

Li Junyang firstly congratulated Zheng Fuyong for being the new Environment Minister of South Korea and welcomed him to pay a visit to IEEPA. He introduced the origins of cooperation with South Korea associations over years and recalled IEEPA¡¯s strategic cooperative partnership with the Daegu city government ,the National Science and Technology Industrial Park, and The Korea Environment Corp. ,and his attending the China and Korea establishing diplomatic relations activities and delivered speeches in energy-saving high-level conference on behalf of Chinese industry, being invited to visit Seoul, paid a visit to Busan municipal energy saving projects ,and under the South Korean government¡¯s arrangement, IEEPA investigated Jeju province in November 2015. They visited the government agencies, banks, communities, businesses, and markets in order to determine how to effectively build green card infrastructure and research carbon credit effects. This achieved fruitful results and has resulted in a series of investigations and research reports designed to promote China and South Korea¡¯s international cooperation projects.

Zheng Fuyong introduced funding situation of Green Card and carbon point projects in Korea and asked about China's relevant policies and measures. Li Junyang gave his opinion on the localization of the projects according to China's conditions and made statements to the executing agency, and said that in this manner, the implementation of the cooperation between China and South Korea will proceed efficiently, achieve the expected results, and allow the two countries to reach the expected CO2 emission reduction goals. Zheng Fuyong Minister thanked Li Junyang for the arrangements.
